Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WarrantyCave handles information when you use the WarrantyCave Android application and website.
Information you provide
Depending on the features you use, you may provide your name, email address, product and warranty details, purchase information, serial numbers, notes, receipts, warranty documents and product photos.
How information is used
- To create and maintain your WarrantyCave account.
- To store, organize and display your warranty records.
- To synchronize eligible cloud-backed data across your devices.
- To schedule warranty-expiry reminders on your device.
- To provide support, security and essential service operation.
Local and cloud storage
Free-plan records may be stored locally on your device. Cloud-enabled plans synchronize eligible warranty data and uploaded files through Google Firebase services. Removing the app may delete information that exists only on that device.
Advertising and privacy choices
The Free plan displays ads provided by Google AdMob. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share IP address, interactions with the app and ads, diagnostic information, and device or account identifiers for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. Google describes its data practices in its Privacy Policy.
Where required, the app asks for your advertising privacy choices before requesting ads. You can review or change available choices from Settings > Privacy choices in the app. Paid plans do not display ads while the paid plan is active.
Optional Meta app install measurement
WarrantyCave offers optional Meta app install and activation measurement. It is disabled by default for both Free and paid plans. If you allow it in Settings > Legal & support > App install measurement, the Meta Android SDK sends install and app activation events and associated identifiers, device and app details, and SDK diagnostic information to Meta for advertising attribution and measurement. This can include the Android advertising identifier when available. Meta also receives network information when the SDK contacts its services.
This integration does not send your warranty contents, receipts, photos, account profile, billing purchases or referrals to Meta. Automatic purchase and app-event logging are disabled; WarrantyCave requests only install and activation measurement after your permission.
You can turn off future measurement in Settings at any time. Turning it off does not delete information already sent to Meta. Your choice applies to this installation and is not restored from an account or device backup. AdMob advertising consent is managed separately. Meta processes information under its Privacy Policy, which describes its retention practices and privacy choices. Contact WarrantyCave using the privacy contact below for questions or deletion requests about data we handle.
Optional Google Firebase Analytics app usage measurement
Starting with version 1.0.33, WarrantyCave offers optional app usage measurement through Google Firebase Analytics. It is disabled by default for Free and paid users. If you allow it, Analytics measures app activity, first use and returning sessions, successful new account creation, and newly saved warranties, including warranties saved locally. This helps us understand app usage and which advertising countries bring active users.
Google processes technical app and device information, a randomly generated app-instance identifier, and approximate location derived from network information. The SDK may also automatically measure in-app purchases and subscriptions, including product identifiers and prices. Analytics data is encrypted in transit. We do not include warranty contents, photos, receipts, serial numbers, names or email addresses in Analytics events, and we do not set an Analytics User-ID from your account. Android advertising ID collection, advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalization are disabled for this measurement.
Your choice is separate from AdMob and Meta and applies only to this installation; it is not restored from an account or device backup. You can decline or disable future collection in Settings > App usage measurement. Earlier local activity is not replayed when you enable measurement. Turning it off resets local Analytics data and the local Analytics identifier; it does not erase information already received by Google.
Google processes this information under its Privacy Policy. Analytics retention and deletion are governed by the Analytics property's controls. Contact us at the privacy address below for questions or deletion requests.
Sharing and service providers
WarrantyCave does not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers required to operate the app, including Google Firebase for authentication, database and file storage, optional Google Firebase Analytics for app usage measurement, Google Play for app distribution and purchases, and Google AdMob for Free-plan advertising. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
Data retention and deletion
Cloud-backed information is retained while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete individual warranty records or request deletion of your account and associated cloud data from the app settings. Some limited records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention or legal obligations.
Security
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect cloud-backed information. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children
WarrantyCave is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the service changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
